The challenge

The WDS website was looking a bit dated and visitors struggled to find what they were looking for. They came to us to improve the user experience. The site needed to be easier for people living with dementia to understand and to use. At the same time, WDS wanted to make it clearer how to provide support, either through donations or volunteering.

The solution

Our primary focus was to design a website that’s accessible for people living with dementia. Clear text, bold headlines and chunky, easy-to-understand icons. The library of photos from their Monday Club Café allowed us to generate a happy, welcoming vibe. Add to that the WDS green and the site treats an often distressing subject in a calm and helpful way.

The result

The published website achieves all WDS's original objectives. It brings their online presence up to date, and it outlines the services available and how to access them. The wealth of helpful, supportive information is easy to find and easy to read. For those living with dementia, the site is a source of comfort and a gateway to Monday Club Café fun!
